Personal Leadership 

The project 'The Leader in Me' helps staff and leaners learn how to become self-reliant, manage their emotions, set and track goals, prioritize their time, increase interpersonal skills—such as resolving conflicts and interacting well with others—and develop the skills  to successfully lead their lives. With these skills and competences teachers (and other staff members)  can effectively solve problems, maximize opportunities, and continually learn and integrate other principles in an upward spiral of growth.   Through an effective training, teachers learn how they can help students to become more self-confident and improve their homework skills by using an innovative pedagogical approach and new teaching methods. The holistic approach of this project 'The Leader in Me' fosters personal development as well as participation in civic life.

By working on personal leadership schools are able to address underachievement of staff ànd learners. Teaching becomes more effective, new forms of assessment are used, entrepreneurship is promoted, problems with diversity are tackled, motivation  increases and early school leaving is prevented.
It addresses underachiement by motivating students. Teaching and evaluating methods change and improve, students show more initiative, be self-confident and critical.
This project is a method of tackeling early school leaving. It enables disadvantaged students to be succesfull by strenghtening their motivation and self-confidence. This also has an impact on their families and the whole community. This project forms a network of schools promoting a collaborative and holistic approach to teaching and learning improving evaluation and quality assurance.
