1. Introduction to the school team

It is important that all members of the school team participate in this holistic approach. Therefore, the information to the staff must be well prepared. The 7 Habits program comes from the United States and this sometimes creates resistance among teachers.
The speed with which the 7 Habits can be introduced depends on the open mind and the willigness of the staff to do so.

2. Training

A professional train the trainer course is appropriate for at least the staff members who are interested in starting the project. Afterwards they can act as trainers for their colleagues.

3. Implementation at school

Lessons

During the Erasmus project, we developed a series of lessons with the partners. The goal is to help teachers teach students personal leadership.

Visualisation

To grow a leadership mentality in school, it is necessary to visualize the project everywhere.

Activities

It is important to involve students in the organization and elaboration of all activities.

How can this be realized in practice? Feel free to visit one of the Leader in Me schools. Contact us.

4. Evaluation

It is important to evaluate whether the operation of the project is producing results. This can be done by a zero measurement at startup. Each student is asked a series of questions about attitudes and habits. After a year, this questionnaire can be filled out again.
In this way the school can determine whether there are changes in the attitudes and habits of students who have been immersed in 'Leader in Me'.

Interested? Request the zero measurement questionnaire. We will be happy to send it to you.

5. Professional pitfalls

Change is a difficult exercise for many teachers.

This is why it is necessary to convince as many members of the team as possible of the importance of personal leadership with students.
Then, start with a small group of enthusiastic employees and gradually expand the group.
Provide adequate teaching materials for the teachers. That way, they won't have any extra work.
Closely monitor progress during the project.
Focus on the positive reactions, not the negative ones.
Set a good example and live by the 7 habits.
